Home Staging FAQs
Q: My Realtor gave me some tips and I de-cluttered. Why would I spend the money to hire a professional stager? I can decorate it myself.
A: Many Realtors have great tips on how to get your home ready to sell. Not every Realtor has interior decorating or home staging experience. Yes, you can certain decorate your home yourself. We are professional, full time experienced home stagers. Whether you are a stay at home mom, an electrician, a plumber, a mail carrier, or a secretary, you are probably good at your career. When your house has electrical problems, you call an electrician, right? When you have a problem with one of your appliances, you call a professional, right? When you are selling your home, it is a wise decision to hire a professional to help you get your home sold in the shortest amount of time and for the most money possible.
Q: The house next-door was vacant and it sold really fast. Our house will sell that fast too, so there is no need to stage my house.
A: You are right. If the house next-door sold fast and it was vacant, that's great. What was the selling price? Were there concessions at closing, i.e. did the seller contribute to the buyers' closing costs, etc.? What was the reason the sellers sold the house? There are many variables involved in selling a home and without knowing the specifics, it is difficult to determine why the house sold fast. Remember, 9 out of 10 people do not have an imagination. Perhaps the house sold because the buyer was the one out of 10 who had an imagination and was able to envision himself in the home. One very important question remains: If the vacant house was staged, would it have sold for more money?
